How to Verify Your Microinverter on the ENA G98 Type-Test Register

Before purchasing or connecting a plug-in solar kit in the UK, you must confirm that the microinverter is formally registered on the Energy Networks Association (ENA) Type Test Register.

Why Register Verification is Essential

DNOs inspect submitted G98 forms against the ENA Type Test Register. If your microinverter is not listed or lacks a valid certification reference, the DNO can reject your connection notification, rendering the system non-compliant.

Step-by-Step Verification Process

  1. Locate the Inverter Model Number: Find the exact model number and manufacturer name on the microinverter data plate (e.g., Hoymiles, APsystems, Deye).
  2. Access the ENA Database: Navigate to the official Energy Networks Association Type Test Register online portal (type-test.energynetworks.org).
  3. Perform the Search: Enter the manufacturer name or model number into the search filter.
  4. Verify Standards Compliance: Confirm the entry explicitly states compliance with Engineering Recommendation G98 (or G98/1).
  5. Download Certificate: Save the Type Test summary certificate PDF to attach to your DNO Form A1-1 submission.
